When a development takes place we will need to name significant buildings, roads (roadsigns to have QR codes telling the story) and areas. Further research is required on medals and awards made.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So Names will all be related to the history of the battlefield.  This is my rolling suggestion list. The list is far from finished. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Names. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Valentine <\/strong>. RAF Leader. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=406\">Tragic loss of 2 of the North Luffenham leaders \u2013 night of 2nd September 1941 . Canadian cold war Sabre flyer &#8211; representing the Sabre aircrew lost in the Cold War &#8211; he has no known grave. Pilot Officer H L Cousins a casualty on a major raid on 24July 1941 &#8211; Operation Sunrise on Nazi battleships in Brest. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?tag=raf-north-luffenham\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?tag=raf-north-luffenham\">http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?tag=raf-north-luffenham<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parks<\/strong>. WW2, Korea \u2013 bomber, transport and Sabre pilot<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Matthews.<\/strong> Outstanding bravery. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=69\">a brave and tragic story \u2013 pilot officers Matthews and Williams \u2013 9\/10 Jan 42<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Williams.<\/strong> Outstanding bravery. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=69\">a brave and tragic story \u2013 pilot officers Matthews and Williams \u2013 9\/10 Jan 42<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hein-Stevens<\/strong>. The identity stolen by the only German jew (Hein) to fly for the RAF. Example of escaper and the great escape. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=67\">Squadron Leader Peter Stevens MC \u2013 a remarkable story \u2013 a German jew flying for the RAF<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Wright. <\/strong>An example of an RAF evader. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=76\">An evader from North Luffenham. It was a long way home for Sgt Albert Wright<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mullet.<\/strong> Irish volunteer legion &#8211; joined to fight the Nazis. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=133\">Resting in North Luffenham churchyard<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thompson.<\/strong>  Survivor from Op Gisela attack. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=421\">Operation Gisela. Succesful German night fighter attack Woolfox Lodge \u2013 night of 3-4 March 1945<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Malin<\/strong>.  Airman representing the other ranks of groundcrew and support staff &#8211; aged 20 &#8211; killed by a Hampden landing back at base after ops hitting the airfield control cabin. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=133\">Resting in North Luffenham churchyard<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simond.<\/strong>  Wg Cdr G F Simond.(MID.) OC 144 Squadron killed during Operation Fuller 12 Feb 42 &#8211; the Channel Dash. No known grave &#8211; lost with 4 others. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=106\">Empty chairs and empty tables \u2013 Operation Fuller \u2013 12 February 1942 \u2018the Channel Dash\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nightingale<\/strong>. Represetning Kenya. Sgt E I Nightingale DFM. killed during Operation Fuller 12 Feb 42 &#8211; the Channel Dash. Crashed crippled Hampden bomber at Norwich and died. The rest of the crew survived. Sgt Ivo Nightingale was from Kenya. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=106\">Empty chairs and empty tables \u2013 Operation Fuller \u2013 12 February 1942 \u2018the Channel Dash\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> Johnson<\/strong>. Representing Rhodesia. Pilot Officer D H Johnson. From Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia. Died night of 10\/11 February 1942 on a raid on Essen. Buried in Hannover War Cemetery. Do not know cause of crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shorrocks.<\/strong>   <strong>Prisoner of war<\/strong>. Representative of the fate of the aircrew. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=817\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=817\">http:\/\/www.rafnorthluffenhamheritage.me.uk\/?p=817<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>One airman, Flt Sgt W H Shorrocks RCAF (61 Sqn RAF) who was shot down by flak in an Avro Manchester raiding Brest on 1 Feb 42, was housed in 5 diferent camps. He was in 3 camps in Germany (8B Silberberg, 344 Lamsdorf and 13C Nurnberg) and then was held in L6 Heydekeg in Lithuania and L4 Beninia in Poland.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>More work required to find representatives &#8211;<\/strong><\/em>&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Royal Australian Air Force. <\/strong> Representing the RAAF &#8211; to be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Royal New Zealand Air Force.<\/strong> Representing the RNZAF &#8211; to be found<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>South Africa. <\/strong>Representing the volunteers from South Africa to be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em> <strong>Other Commonwealth\/Dominion\/Allied names<\/strong>.
